And Then It Hits Me

Yesterday we were super busy preparing Junior's (my stepson) birthday dinner. All of a sudden it dawned on us that we were completely out of eggs, which we needed for the pasta. Doh! And of course we can't just run to the store to buy more. Fortunately I dug around in our cabinets and found some lasagna noodles that I had bought a year ago for our rehearsal dinner. I don't know what we would have done, other than wait for our chickens to pop out some eggs and just hope that we get enough.

It just goes to show that we really need to plan out what we're doing.

  1. And it goes to show how dependent we have became as a society on modern conveniences. It's plain to see that your experiment is gong to serve a higher purpose than just on a personal level. It is a lesson and a standard for us all to look up to and recreate! I am proud of you for not running to Wal-Mart for eggs!

  2. I've seen ground flax seed and water used in recipes as a substitute for eggs, but is that possible in pasta? I've personally never used the sub.
This is extremely interesting and I wish my husband and family would get behind something like this for us.
    Good luck guys!
